Suitable Type of Network Topology Used 

Type of network topology used : Star Topology

How it works :

Devices are linked to a central network device with RJ-45 or coaxial cable. In this situation, switch are utilised as a central device instead of a hub. Each message has to pass through the central device which is switch, and it will see the destination of the message and send the message to the intended destination. All connected device are completely dependent on the central device. As you can see from the diagram provided, each connected device which also known as node has direct point-to-point link to the central device.

Reasons we use star topology :

1. Ensures high-speed communication between connected devices

2. Ensures reliable connection where the whole connection won't be affected if one of the link fails

3. Easy fault identification and fault isolation

4. Cost effective as each device only needs one I/O port

5. Easy management where adding and removing a device in the future only requires a single cable and does not need to reconfigure the whole network

Let me use one of the network connection in our office as an explanation. As you can see from the network diagram below, the community support department's desktops are connected to a 5-port switch which acts as the central device. This switch enables the computers to communicate with each other and share resources efficiently within the department. Then, this switch is connected to the first-floor router, which in turn is connected to the office's main router and where the main router is a gateway between the internet and the office's network.
